Since 2004, and then later further established by Jeanette Footman and Alice Matsuo in 2009, Perk Up has been a well-known cafe in Broad Ripple for its smooth coffee and exceptional breads and cakes. With Jeanette having a strong affinity for baking German-style cakes, and Alice’s background in chemistry and German artisanal bread-baking, the two joined forces to create Brotgarten, and have been successfully serving the community with tasty breads and cakes for almost 15 years. Along with the signature vegetarian quiche, the multitude of breakfast sandwiches on Brotgarten bread, as well as a variety of other everyday pastries, Perk Up has been dubbed a “Neighborhood Favorite” several years in a row by NextDoor Neighbor.
